In this episode, watch as Curtis Wallace transforms the back of a historic two-story brick home in Detroit. He takes it from outdated to a soulful masterpiece, blending elements that pay tribute to Detroit’s rich musical heritage and the family’s legacy. We’re thrilled beyond words—it almost feels surreal. Here’s a glimpse behind the scenes with some photos captured during the transformation process.
So many people came together to transform this house on the inside while Curtis was working on the outside.
Step one: build the scaffolding! It’s all about laying the groundwork (or in this case, the skywork!) to reach every corner and get ready for the exciting transformation ahead.
Step two: time to let loose and doodle! With a freehand sketch, we start bringing the mural to life right on the wall. To keep it looking just right, we use grids and reference points so everything stays perfectly proportional. It’s like watching magic unfold as the design takes shape—this is where the fun really begins!
Keep pushing forward—stay focused and keep going!
Now comes the fun part: adding color! Hold on tight to that scaffolding, because this job isn’t for the easily rattled. Bold strokes and fearless heights—just another day at the office!
